John Michaels, John Lambert, and Michael Boldin are your hosts on this 73rd episode. With all the news of states exercising sovereignty over marijuana, health care exchanges, and NDAA those who favor the opposite – a monolithic Washington, D.C. – are scrambling for arguments to keep back the momentum of these tenther-leaning election results.
Alabama Governor Bentley is called “a new George Wallace” after declaring his state will not implement an Obamacare exchange, but John Michaels disagrees pointing out that, “truth said, the man is doing his job.”
Texas State Representative David Simpson joined the show to discuss his House Bill 80 to stop intrusive TSA screenings at airports. “The goal is to begin to return to Constitutional treatment of travelers and right now we’re treating everyone as a potential terrorist” explained Simpson, who is a Republican, and he even dropped a little news.
On Governor Rick Perry, David Simpson said, “I’ve heard from leadership that he would be in favor of it” and also foreshadowed Montana, New Jersey, Washington, Alaska, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and other states introducing similar legislation in 2013. Simpson encouraged everyone to follow updates at DavidSimpson.com because “right now we’re licensing tyranny and abuse in the name of security.” He also said, “freedom is not a partisan issue.”
Michael Boldin’s monologue on weed drove the point home that decentralism works, and is working.
After the show, the whole team came back together to cover what wasn’t brought up during the show. Governor Brown’s aura, Governor Hickenlooper’s insult, and the media came up in our roundtable discussion you won’t be fully informed without hearing!
