Tenther Radio Episode #84: Nullification Movement Expands, Buyer Beware on Constitutional Sheriffs?

Welcome to Tenther Radio Episode #84!   Michael Boldin and Nick Hankoff cover the latest and greatest of Tenther News!  The nullification fire is spreading across many states as many issues are fanning the flames: guns, NDAA, and marijuana.

Nick reported on many news items for discussion.  Among them, Mississippi has introduced a Second Amendment Protection bill that has twenty five co-sponsors which included felony charges against any official who denies citizens of their Second Amendment Rights.  Missouri has introduced a similar bill.

Michael Boldin brought up that a similar bill passed through Wyoming committee 8-1.

The very busy state of Mississippi stepped up again as well for they have also introduced an Anti-NDAA legislation.

As Michael Boldin stated, “Wyoming is smoking.”   Their Anti-NDAA passed out of their committee as well.  Congrats to Wyoming for their committee passing the bills.  Is pot next?

Later, Nick told us of New Hampshire’s attempt in trying to be the nineteenth state to resist federal laws on marijuana.  Also, a bill was introduced to implement medical marijuana.  Hawaii is considering making marijuana available for recreational use.

Michael informed us that Tennessee introduced a bill that any firearm, not just those made in Tennessee will be protected within their state.

Also, Washington State has caught the nullification fever.   An anti-NDAA bill has been introduce, but there is a desperate need for the bill to have co-sponsors.  So if you live in Washington State, contact your representative and persuade them to co-sponsor this important bill.

Michael Boldin touched on a story that the Sheriff Mack’s CSPOA announced that 228 Sheriffs are saying ‘No’ to Obama on Gun Control.

The hosts discussed  William Normal Grigg’s excellent article, “Buyer Beware: County Sheriffs and the Constitution”.   The article focuses on a Texas Sheriff, Larry Smith claim that he will defend the Constitution particularly on Gun Rights.  BUT….   Sheriff Smith has recently served many federal drug warrants.  Also, he was once employed by the ATF.  Just because a Sheriff claims he is a supporter of the Constitution, we have the responsibility to make sure they are consistent with this stance.

Later, Michael and Nick referred to a second article by Grigg called, “Gary Raney: The Slave-Catching Sheriff of Ada County, Idaho.”   Sheriff Gary Raney believes through the Supremacy Clause take precedent over any state or local laws which isn’t the case.

Michael finished the regular show with his weekly rant which he refers to an article by William Kennedy about other ways to nullify.
